Depression: You obtained score of (/42), indicate that you have a level of depression symptoms.
Anxiety: You obtained score of (/42), indicate that you have a level of anxiety symptoms.
Stress: You obtained score of (/42), indicate that you have a level of stress symptoms.
It's important to note that the DASS is not a diagnostic tool and should not be used on its own assess the presence or absence of Depression or Anxiety. High scores on the DASS would certainly alert the clinician to a high level of distress in the patient and this would need to be explored further within the interview process. Similarly, low scores on the DASS should not be a substitue for a comprehensive clinical interview.
Assessments can be a valuable first step toward getting treatment. All too often people stop short of seeking help out of fear their concerns aren't legitimate or severe enough to warrant professional intervention.
